Forgo the frozen tub of punch at your local grocer and make this homemade version for a fraction of the cost.
Ingredients:
- 1 package Tropical Punch Kool Aid Powder
- 1 cup sugar
- Juice from 1 can of pineapple (optional)
- 1/4 lemon juice (optional)
- Slices of orange, lemon or lime (optional)
- Water
Serve with:
- Up to two 2L soda (depending on price, I would use ginger ale, Sprite, Sierra Mist or 7 Up)
Dissolve Kool Aid Packet and Sugar in 2 cups of warm water. Add additional juices (if desired). Pour into a plastic bowl (mine holds 72 ounces). Add enough water to fill bowl, leaving two-inches at the top to allow for expansion. Stir. Place slices of fruit on top of mixture. Cover loosely and place in freezer.
To serve, dip bottom of bowl in sink of hot water for a few seconds to loosen frozen mixture. Carefully place frozen punch into a punch bowl. (The sliced fruit should be on top.) Pour soda over punch. Allow mixture dissolve for 30 minutes, then stir prior to serving. Add additional soda as needed until punch has completely dissolved.
