Who doesn't have at least one social event this year that requires preparing an appetizer. If you're trying to feed a crowd, try this quick, inexpensive recipe. (The original recipe required a longer list on ingredients plus lots of measuring, stirring and simmering. As I pulled the finished product from the oven I wondered why I had wasted so much time making BBQ sauce for hot dogs!)
Ingredients:
- 1# Oscar Mayer Wieners (or other hot dogs) cut into quarters (leaving 1+ inch chunks)
- 1/2 bottle of BBQ Sauce (enough to cover dogs)
Place cut up hot dogs in Pyrex dish. Cover with BBQ sauce. Stir, cover than bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Stir once while baking. Serve with toothpicks.
Alternate Cooking Method: Mix ingredients in Crock Pot and cook over medium heat until hot and bubbly. Recipe can be doubled or tripled if needed. Cooking time may need to be increased.
Note: I originally made this to take to a potluck. I was searching for something kids would eat and was later surprised by the number of adults who were going back for seconds!
