Skip the expensive varieties (over $4#) at your local store and opt for this cost-effective (as little as $2#), simple recipe:
- 2, 8oz packages Cream Cheese (at room temperature)
- 1, 8oz package Shredded Cheddar Cheese (at room temperature)
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1.5 cups chopped parsley, walnuts or pecans
- Crackers
Mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic and onion powder in mixer or food processor until well-blended. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Shape into ball (or log).
