Cheese Ball

Skip the expensive varieties (over $4#) at your local store and opt for this cost-effective (as little as $2#), simple recipe:

  • 2, 8oz packages Cream Cheese (at room temperature)
  • 1, 8oz package Shredded Cheddar Cheese (at room temperature)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1.5 cups chopped parsley, walnuts or pecans
  • Crackers
Mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic and onion powder in mixer or food processor until well-blended.  Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.  Shape into ball (or log).  Roll in chopped parsley or nuts.  Chill until ready to serve.  Arrange crackers or a tray or in a basket to go with cheese ball.
