Snow Cones Recipe

We recently joined a small swimming pool, where a trip to the snack bar is like stepping back in time.  Where else can you pick up candy for $.01, $.05 or $.10?  Snow cones are also offered for $.50 each.  Not a bad price, but still more expensive than home-made.  Use these tips to create your own cold, frozen treat:

Crush ice using your blender, chopper or shredder
Scoop crushed ice into cups
Cover with sugary beverage of choice:
  • Soda that's lost its fizz
  • Ice Pop tube (the kind that comes in a box and has to be frozen)
  • Strong Kool-Aid (use half as much sugar as called for)
  • Juice (great for little kids)
Serve with a spoon and a straw.
